During bilateral discussions with Finnish President Alexander Stubb, Prime Minister Modi emphasized that joint efforts in these advanced sectors will infuse new vigor and direction into the bilateral relationship.
“We are establishing India-Finland ties as a strategic partnership in digitalization and sustainability,” stated Prime Minister Modi.
“This collaboration, extending from AI to 6G, from clean energy to quantum computing, will provide a significant boost to our cooperation in various high-tech fields,” he added.
Additionally, PM Modi remarked that the historic India-European Union Free Trade Agreement, finalized earlier this year, would further enhance trade, investment, and technology partnerships between India and Finland.
The discussions took place at Hyderabad House in the national capital, where both leaders explored avenues to bolster collaboration across multiple sectors and deepen economic ties between their nations.
“In early 2026, a significant India-European Union Free Trade Agreement was established. This agreement will further reinforce trade, investment, and technology cooperation between India and Finland,” PM Modi noted.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the talks encompassed a broad spectrum of topics aimed at enhancing bilateral relations and fortifying strategic connections.
Both parties exchanged insights on regional and global developments and discussed potential collaboration within multilateral frameworks.
Following the discussions, Prime Minister Modi hosted a lunch in honor of President Stubb.
Earlier that day, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met with the Finnish President to discuss bilateral relations ahead of the high-level meeting with the Prime Minister.
