New Delhi, May 12 (NationPress) In light of the recent agreement between India and Pakistan, Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit expressed optimism but stressed that this must lead to a sustainable resolution. He noted that India's strength and prowess were vividly showcased when the military took decisive action.
Dikshit remarked that India's robust response conveyed a strong message to Pakistan, but the true implications of this lesson for Islamabad remain uncertain.
In conversation with IANS, he stated, “A significant aspect of this ceasefire is the demonstration of India’s might,” underscoring the country’s advanced defense capabilities and strategic responses. “It has been established that if Pakistan engages in any hostile actions in the future, whether involving missiles, drones, or aircraft, our precision in targeting is significantly superior.”
His remarks came in reference to the meeting of the Director Generals of Military Operations (DGAO) post-ceasefire. When asked about the significance of this meeting, Dikshit mentioned, “The nature of the discussions remains unclear, and potential issues may arise. However, I hope that this ceasefire leads to a long-term resolution,” he shared with IANS.
He also highlighted Pakistan’s ongoing support for terrorism as a critical issue: “Terrorist activities emanating from Pakistan are a major concern. There is ample evidence of training, funding, and armaments being supplied from across the border. This is known globally.”
Reflecting on India's military stance, he added, “We provided a strong response. We made it clear what the consequences would be if they acted again. Whether Pakistan has truly understood this remains to be seen. I hope this ceasefire yields meaningful results, paving the way for a structured approach.”
On the ground, tranquility seems to have returned as of Sunday night, two nights post-ceasefire, with no reports of drone activities or assaults. While remaining cautious, Dikshit commented, “Whether Pakistan will genuinely uphold the ceasefire will only be revealed in the future.”
He concluded by noting, “What transpires in the coming 2-4-6 months will be of greater significance than the current discussions.”
