New Delhi, April 13 (NationPress) To mark the 78th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and India, a cycling event was held in New Delhi on Sunday, attracting over 300 participants.

This cycling rally also celebrated the 80th anniversary of Russia's triumph in the Great Patriotic War from 1941 to 1945.

The Russian Embassy reported that more than 300 individuals took part in this event.

Russian Ambassador to India, Denis Alipov, shared his wishes on social media regarding this 78th diplomatic anniversary.

He stated, "Warm greetings to our Indian friends on the 78th anniversary of Russia-India diplomatic relations! Our steadfast friendship, mutual respect, and strategic partnership are a source of pride for us. We are dedicated to elevating these significant relations to new heights. Hail Russia, Hail India!"

The strategic partnership between Russia and India is characterized by strong connections across politics, trade, technology, science, education, and culture, according to the Russian Embassy.

It highlighted that New Delhi and Moscow are engaged in collaborative investment initiatives, enhancing transportation systems, and cooperating in space exploration and nuclear energy.

"Key focus areas include energy security and military-technical collaboration," the Russian Embassy noted.

"The robust dynamics of Russian-Indian interactions at all levels and the record trade figures reflect our countries' dedication to enhancing equal, trustworthy, and mutually advantageous collaboration. The influx of bilateral tourism is rising; business, cultural, and educational exchanges are flourishing," the statement continued.

"With India, we share decades of fruitful interstate interaction and centuries of genuine friendship and civilizational dialogue. Our mission is to honor and enrich this legacy," the Russian Embassy added.

In related news, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has received an invitation to attend Russia's Victory Day celebrations next month.

"Our Prime Minister has received an invitation to take part in the Victory Day celebrations. We will confirm our attendance at the appropriate time," MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated during a media briefing in New Delhi on Wednesday.

Earlier, Russian media TASS reported, citing Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko, that PM Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh are expected to be present at the 80th anniversary of Russia's victory in the Great Patriotic War in Moscow next month.

The report also suggested that the participation of an Indian armed forces ceremonial unit in the parade on Red Square is being planned.

On March 27, during the first international conference, "Russia and India: Towards a New Agenda for Bilateral Relations," Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov mentioned that preparations are underway for Russian President Vladimir Putin's upcoming visit to India.

He remarked that the political dialogue between India and Russia is "progressing dynamically," aided by their closely aligned perspectives on the emerging multipolar world order.

"The history of relations between our nations is long-standing. They have proven resilient throughout various challenges. Currently, Russia and India are fostering equal partnerships based on sincere mutual respect and the consideration of each other's interests," Lavrov added.

External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar also addressed the conference, emphasizing that New Delhi-Moscow relations are continuing to expand and deepen in a dynamic global environment.

The EAM stressed that the further enhancement of the Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership between India and Russia remains a priority for both nations.

"Through every transition and realignment, India and Russia have shown a remarkable ability to adapt and discover new opportunities for mutual gain and for promoting regional and global stability and prosperity. Our diplomatic dialogues are characterized by frequent high-level exchanges, strong institutional frameworks, and a commitment to each other's core concerns," EAM Jaishankar concluded.
