In the final, Team India’s openers, Sanju Samson (89), Abhishek Sharma (52), and No. 3 Ishan Kishan (54), set a formidable foundation for an impressive total.

Sanju Samson delivered a stunning performance, scoring 89 runs off 46 balls, including five fours and eight sixes, leading India to a significant score of 255/5, the second-highest total in the tournament and the highest ever recorded in a World Cup. The bowlers then dismantled New Zealand quickly, bowling them out for 159 in just 19 overs.

Samson has been in phenomenal form, producing scores of 97 not out and 89 in his previous matches.
