Brasilia, May 31 (NationPress) The Indian parliamentary delegation, spearheaded by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, is gearing up for its visit to Brazil as part of a global outreach initiative designed to elucidate the importance of 'Operation Sindoor' and reinforce India's unwavering stance against terrorism. The Indian community in Brazil is eagerly anticipating the arrival of the delegation.
Currently, the delegation is in Colombia after previously visiting New York, Panama, and Guyana. Following their Brazilian stop, they are scheduled to head to Washington next week to further their campaign.
As the Indian diaspora awaits their visit, Rahul Ghansola, hailing from Uttarakhand, voiced his pride in India's robust counter-terrorism measures.
"We are immensely proud that our government has delivered a strong response to terrorism following the Pahalgam terror attack. We are proud to identify ourselves as Indians," he remarked during an interview with IANS.
He added, "Since the advent of Prime Minister Modi's administration, significant changes have occurred. Our armed forces have become more formidable and better equipped."
Emphasizing the emotional and symbolic significance of the delegation's visit, he stated, "The all-party delegation's arrival fills us with joy. Their presence will highlight India's anti-terror stance to the public, which is a source of pride for us."
Another diaspora member, Ankit Rawat, expressed, "We feel a deep sense of pride that our government has taken decisive action against terrorism. Pakistan has consistently sponsored and facilitated cross-border terrorism. Meanwhile, India has witnessed continuous progress, particularly under PM Modi's leadership."
"Since PM Modi took office, he has consistently acted decisively against terrorism, leading to national progress. We rejoice in this development and hope it continues," he relayed to IANS.
He also noted that even local Brazilians recognize India's advancements under PM Modi's leadership.
The delegation comprises a diverse range of political representatives from across India. Alongside Shashi Tharoor are Shambhavi from the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Sarfaraz Ahmad from the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, and Milind Murli Deora from the Shiv Sena.
They are joined by BJP leaders Shashank Mani Tripathi, Bhubaneswar Kalita, and Tejasvi Surya, as well as GM Harish Balayogi of the Telugu Desam Party, a partner in the National Democratic Alliance.
This multiparty initiative aims to underscore India's steadfast position against cross-border terrorism, especially following the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives and was linked to the Lashkar-e-Taiba-backed group 'The Resistance Front' operating from Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
'Operation Sindoor' represented India's decisive military action, targeting terrorist launchpads and critical infrastructure along the Line of Control, exposing Pakistan's ongoing role in harboring and supporting terrorism.
The delegation's mission is to globally communicate this message and unify diaspora voices in support of national determination.
