New Delhi, May 10 (NationPress) In a decisive response to Pakistan's malicious actions, the Border Security Force (BSF) has obliterated a Pakistani post and a terrorist launch pad in Looni, District Sialkot, situated opposite the Akhnoor region, which was used for launching tube drones aimed at attacking India.

On May 9, 2025, starting at around 2100 hrs, Pakistan commenced unprovoked firing on BSF positions in the Jammu Sector. The BSF retaliated effectively, inflicting significant damage on the posts and resources of the Pakistan Rangers along the International Boundary.

The BSF confirmed, “The terrorist launch pad in Looni, District Sialkot opposite Akhnoor has been completely dismantled. Our commitment to safeguarding India's sovereignty remains steadfast.”

In another crucial development along the Western front, the Indian Army announced on Saturday that its air defense units successfully intercepted and destroyed multiple armed drones from Pakistan over Khasa Cantt in Amritsar, reaffirming their dedication to counter any threats to national security.

The Indian Army stated, “Pakistan's reckless escalation with drone strikes and other munitions persists along our western borders. At around 5 a.m. today, several enemy armed drones were detected over Khasa Cantt, Amritsar. Our air defense units swiftly engaged and eliminated the hostile drones.”

Condemning these provocations, the Army declared, “Pakistan's blatant attempt to infringe upon India's sovereignty and jeopardize civilian lives is intolerable. The Indian Army will thwart enemy designs.”

The Ministry of Defence also expressed grave concerns regarding the increasing provocations from Pakistan, particularly drone incursions and artillery attacks along the western frontier. “Pakistan's ongoing escalation through drone incursions is a serious matter... This blatant violation of India's sovereignty is unacceptable,” stated the ministry.

In a related incident late Friday night, three civilians, including a woman, sustained injuries due to an attack by a Pakistani drone on the outskirts of Ferozepur town in Punjab.

According to Senior Superintendent of Police Bhupinder Singh Sidhu, the injured were members of the same family and suffered burn injuries.

He further clarified that the majority of the drone attacks have been neutralized by the Indian Army, noting this was the only incident reported in the district.

Meanwhile, alarm spread across parts of Jammu and Kashmir as residents in Srinagar and the Akhnoor area reported hearing loud explosion-like noises early Saturday morning, causing many morning walkers to rush home in fear.

Simultaneously, overnight mortar shelling by the Pakistan Army in Poonch and Rajouri districts caused significant damage to civilian infrastructure.

The Defence Ministry reported, “Drones have been observed at 26 locations along the International Border and LoC with Pakistan, including suspected armed drones.”

The mentioned locations encompass Baramulla, Srinagar, Avantipora, Nagrota, Jammu, Ferozpur, Pathankot, Fazilka, Lalgarh Jatta, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Bhuj, Kuarbet, and Lakhi Nala.

Regrettably, an armed drone targeted a civilian area in Ferozepur, resulting in injuries to local family members. The injured have received medical attention, and the area has been secured by security forces.
