During his discussions with CEOs from the global energy sector at the 'India Energy Week' (IEW) 2026, PM Modi emphasized India's strong economic growth, highlighting an investment potential of approximately $100 billion in exploration and production, thanks to the investor-friendly policy reforms implemented by the government.
He also pointed out the $30 billion opportunity in Compressed Bio-Gas (CBG) during the meeting, which included participation from Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, and Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Suresh Gopi.
The Prime Minister mentioned that direct input from global industry leaders assists in refining policy frameworks, effectively addressing sector-specific challenges, and bolstering India's status as a lucrative investment hub.
The CEOs expressed their strong belief in India's growth trajectory and their eagerness to expand and strengthen their business operations in India, citing policy stability, reform momentum, and long-term demand visibility.
The roundtable gathered 27 CEOs and senior corporate representatives from renowned global companies such as TotalEnergies, BP, Vitol, HD Hyundai, HD KSOE, Aker, LanzaTech, International Energy Forum (IEF), Excelerate, Wood Mackenzie, Trafigura, Staatsolie, Praj, ReNew, and MOL, among others.
PM Modi outlined vast opportunities across the entire energy value chain, including a gas-based economy, refinery-petrochemical integration, and advancements in maritime and shipbuilding.
He acknowledged that while the global energy landscape is filled with uncertainty, it also harbors tremendous opportunities.
The Prime Minister called for innovation, collaboration, and deeper partnerships, reaffirming that India is prepared to be a reliable and trustworthy partner throughout the entire energy value chain, emphasizing that India will play a critical role in the global energy demand-supply scenario.
