Chandigarh, July 16 (NationPress) The leader of the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), Abhay Singh Chautala, has reportedly been targeted with a death threat from an unknown caller. This individual sent a voice message to his son, Karan Chautala, cautioning that his father should “stay out of their way” or face dire consequences.

Karan informed reporters that he has filed a complaint with the Chandigarh Police regarding the alarming message.

In July 2023, Abhay had also been subjected to a similar threat, leading the Haryana Police to initiate a case.

As a result, Abhay Chautala was granted Y plus category security for his protection.

“The INLD state president Nafe Singh Rathi was murdered in 2024, and the assailants remain free,” Karan stated.

In his report, Karan mentioned that he received a late-night WhatsApp call that ended abruptly without any dialogue.

Subsequently, he received a voice message from the number +447466061671, where the sender addressed Karan by name and used derogatory remarks about Abhay Chautala. The ominous message warned: “Make your father understand, or we’ll send him to the Pradhan too.”

This same number also targeted Ramesh Godara, Abhay Chautala’s private secretary, with voice messages and calls, designating it as a “final warning.”

In 2023, Abhay Chautala had faced threats during the Haryana Parivartan Pad Yatra, leading to the enhancement of his security.

Referring to Rathi’s murder, Karan mentioned that the voice message alluded to “the chief.”

Karan highlighted that their family has consistently spoken out against the government’s shortcomings, particularly regarding escalating crime, drug issues, and ineffective law enforcement in Haryana.

He made an urgent appeal for the apprehension of the culprits and the protection of his father, urging the police to quickly trace and arrest them to ensure the safety of Abhay Chautala and his family.

In February 2024, Haryana INLD chief and former legislator Nafe Singh Rathi was gunned down by assailants who ambushed his vehicle in Jhajjar district. Another party official traveling with him also lost his life, while two others sustained serious injuries.
