Jaipur, March 27 (NationPress) Following a death threat received by Deputy Chief Minister Premchand Bairwa, another member of the ruling party and former Alwar Rural MLA, Jairam Jatav, along with his son, have also been targeted with similar threats.
Reports indicate that Jatav's wife and son, Rajendra Kumar, visited Bhartrihari Dham on Wednesday. Upon their return, an unknown individual placed a WhatsApp voice call to Rajendra Kumar, delivering a direct death threat.
The caller ominously stated, “You have 15 days. After that, I will shoot you and your father, Jairam Jatav. Do whatever you can.”
In response to the threat, Rajendra's mother promptly notified the former MLA via phone. At that time, Jairam Jatav was in Jamalpur, participating in an event with Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav. Upon receiving the alarming news, he quickly contacted District Superintendent of Police (SP) Sanjeev Nain.
Subsequently, he went to the Sadar police station to lodge a formal complaint. Complaints were also emailed to the Chief Minister, Director General of Police (DGP), Inspector General of Police (IGP), and Superintendent of Police (SP).
In a statement to the media, Jairam Jatav confirmed the occurrence, saying, “An unidentified individual called my son on WhatsApp and threatened my life. I have filed a report at the Sadar police station and also informed senior officials, including the CM and DGP, through email.”
Authorities are actively investigating this case to locate and arrest the suspect.
According to police reports, Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Prem Chand Bairwa received a death threat on Wednesday. The threat was reported to the police control room, prompting the city police to initiate an extensive search operation.
Jaipur Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph elaborated on the threat against the Deputy CM, noting that the call originated from an unidentified number, which was traced back to Jaipur Central Jail. The jail department has been notified.
He added that law enforcement is diligently working to identify the caller.
Previously, a similar threat was reported to the control room by an inmate from a Jaipur jail, warning of potential harm to Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.
