Gurugram, April 10 (NationPress) Abhay Singh Chautala, a notable Jat leader and the public face of the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) in Haryana, announced on Thursday that the party plans to reinstate former members to rejuvenate its presence in the state.

In an effort to bolster the party's grassroots, eight district presidents and members from regions including Gurugram, Faridabad, Rewari, Palwal, Mewat, Rohtak, Jhajjar, and Sonipat convened in Gurugram on Thursday.

Key figures at the meeting included State President Rampal Majra, Prakash Bharti, Umed Lohan, Aditya Devi Lal, and Karan Chautala.

“We will exert every effort to bring back the old workers to the party and will tour various constituencies throughout the state,” stated Chautala during a press briefing.

While outlining the party's agenda, Chautala disclosed that eight district party members convened today, with another seven scheduled to meet on Friday in Fatehabad, and the last set of seven district party members will gather on Saturday in the state capital, Chandigarh, on April 13.

Chautala asserted that the INLD plans to host seven events annually to re-engage party workers and reclaim the party's former influence in the state.

“Individuals who merely show up and contribute nothing will not be accommodated within the organization,” he remarked.

He instructed party members to connect with those aligned with the principles of Chaudhary Devi Lal.

Criticizing former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Chautala claimed that Hooda is currently the biggest adversary of the state, having allied with the BJP to evade imprisonment and betrayed the populace.

“Hooda obstructed the INLD's entry into the India Bloc at the BJP's behest. Had the INLD joined, we would have secured all 10 Lok Sabha seats and gained a significant majority in the Assembly, consequently ousting the BJP,” he asserted.

Chautala further claimed that Hooda, under BJP influence, nominated 16 Assembly candidates who all faced defeats in the 2024 Assembly elections.

In response to inquiries regarding INLD's former vice president Ashok Kumar Arora, Chautala acknowledged him as a senior leader and a close ally of former Haryana Chief Minister O.P. Chautala, but noted that he is not receiving the respect he once did in the INLD.

“Should he return to the INLD, he will regain the same respect and recognition as before,” he remarked.

State President Rampal Majra stated that the people of the state are eager to remove the corrupt BJP from power, urging all party members to engage with the public and reveal how the JJP facilitated the BJP's consecutive victories, as well as how Bhupendra Hooda aided the BJP in winning for the third time.

“Currently, the citizens of Haryana regard the Congress and JJP as traitors for their collaboration with the BJP, and they are prepared to support Chaudhary Abhay Singh Chautala in the upcoming 2029 Assembly elections,” he stated.

INLD had formed an alliance with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and the Lokhit Party during the 2024 Assembly elections, aiming to unite Jat and SC voters. However, they were unsuccessful in attracting voters, leading to the BJP's majority victory.
