New Delhi, Oct 24 (NationPress) In a significant operation, the Delhi Police Special Cell has dismantled a terror module inspired by Islamic State (ISIS) and apprehended two operatives who were reportedly plotting an IED blast in the capital city. The suspects are believed to have received training for a ‘fidayeen (suicide) attack and were nearing execution of their plans in a busy area of the metropolis, sources indicate.
As per police reports, one of the detained individuals resides in Delhi, while the other is from Madhya Pradesh. One of them has been identified as Adnan.
The arrests were executed during a coordinated operation involving intelligence agencies and the Special Cell, with one operative caught in Sadiq Nagar, Delhi, and the other in Bhopal.
Authorities confiscated a stash of arms and ammunition from the suspects, according to police sources.
A senior officer revealed to a prominent daily that the operation was led by Additional Commissioner Pramod Kushwaha and ACP Lalit Mohan Negi.
