Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) President Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday, 28 July declared that the District Selection Committee (DSC) paper leak and alleged irregularities in the sports quota recruitment have brought the anger and frustration of Gen-Z across Andhra Pradesh to a boiling point. Jagan made the remarks as YSRCP-led student and youth wings held rallies at district headquarters across the state, which the former Chief Minister described as a resounding success.

What the DSC Controversy Is About

The Mega DSC-2025 recruitment process — meant to fill teacher posts across Andhra Pradesh — has been engulfed in allegations of a paper leak and irregularities in the sports quota category. Critics argue that meritorious candidates who spent years preparing for the examination have been denied fair opportunities due to systemic lapses in the recruitment process. YSRCP leaders allege that the irregularities occurred under the direct watch of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP)-led coalition government.

Jagan's Demands and Allegations

Posting on social media platform X, Jagan alleged that the Chandrababu Naidu-led state government had forced talented young aspirants — who should have secured jobs on merit — onto the streets in protest. He demanded the immediate resignation of Education Minister Nara Lokesh, holding him personally accountable for the DSC irregularities.

Jagan also called for a comprehensive Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into every aspect of the recruitment process, from the paper leak to the sports quota appointments. “The Chandrababu Naidu government, which was expected to deliver justice to unemployed youth who worked day and night to secure teacher jobs, instead shattered their future through leaks and irregularities in the DSC process,” he said.

He further alleged that neither Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu nor Education Minister Lokesh had addressed the evidence publicly. “Instead, they are attempting to cover up the issue through diversionary tactics,” Jagan said, adding that the YSRCP would intensify the movement in multiple forms with active student participation.

YSRCP Leaders Escalate Pressure

Former Minister Perni Venkatramaiah (Nani) and YSRCP official spokesperson Putta Shivashankar addressed separate press conferences, amplifying the party’s offensive against the coalition government over the Mega DSC-2025 recruitment. Both leaders reiterated demands for Lokesh’s resignation and a CBI probe into the entire process.

Notably, Nani issued a direct challenge to Education Minister Lokesh to announce a date, time, and venue for a public debate on the DSC controversy. He stated that if Chief Minister Naidu chose to participate, Jagan himself would represent the YSRCP, and if Lokesh attended, Nani was prepared to face him directly.
