Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday, 23 September met Governor Justice Abdul Nazeer in Vijayawada to formally apprise him of alleged irregularities in the District Selection Committee (DSC) teacher recruitment scam and a reported attack on party workers protesting outside the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) office. Jagan reiterated his demand for the resignation of Education Minister Nara Lokesh and a CBI inquiry into the DSC scam.

Key Allegations Against the Coalition Government

According to Jagan, the conduct of DSC examinations was entrusted entirely to a single official heading the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT). He cited the case of an outsourcing employee who reportedly secured the first rank in the examination but was denied appointment — which, he argued, establishes that the question paper was leaked.

He further alleged that government orders (GOs) were issued to enable a select group of candidates to secure appointments without sitting the DSC examination. Once the appointments were made, those GOs were reportedly cancelled — a sequence he described as 'sufficient proof of the irregularities.' Additionally, 372 persons were allegedly recruited without having cleared the mandatory Teacher Eligibility Test (TET).

Fake Certificates and Unanswered Audio-Visual Evidence

Jagan told the Governor that certain candidates submitted fake sports certificates issued by associations headed by Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders, specifically naming softball and judo associations. He alleged that contradictory statements from SAAP and the concerned associations further expose the fraud.

Audio-visual evidence related to the alleged sale of jobs has reportedly surfaced on social media, yet no action has been taken against those responsible, according to YSRCP. Jagan also alleged that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu misled the state Assembly on the issue, allowing those responsible to go unpunished.

Attack on YSRCP Protesters at SAAP Office

Jagan alleged that despite YSRCP having obtained prior permission to submit a representation at the SAAP office, a counter-dharna was simultaneously organised at the same venue by what he described as 'TDP goons' — the same persons he claimed had previously attacked offices of Sakshi, the YSRCP-affiliated media outlet. He said unemployed youth and party workers were physically attacked during this confrontation.

What compounded the grievance, he argued, was the coalition government subsequently filing cases carrying serious charges against the very protesters who were holding a peaceful demonstration, rather than against their alleged attackers.

Custodial Death Case Cited as Pattern of Impunity

Jagan also raised the custodial death of Sai Krishna, a case that has reached the Supreme Court. He noted that the apex court passed stern remarks in the matter, which he described as 'a slap in the face of the government,' citing it as part of a broader pattern of alleged state impunity under the current administration.

YSRCP said its fight would continue until justice prevails, with Jagan vowing to sustain pressure on the government through constitutional channels and public mobilisation.
