“The recent signing of our bilateral investment agreement represents a significant advancement in this direction. It is commendable that your ministerial colleagues in sectors like agriculture, economy, tourism, and finance have all visited us recently. Lately, India has significantly upgraded its capabilities in areas such as rail, road, and port infrastructure, renewable energy, and health. Our businesses are eager to explore prospects in Israel, and we wish to prioritize this,” he stated.
Jaishankar expressed his concern for developments in Israel, welcoming the return of hostages as well as the remains of those who sadly lost their lives. Reiterating New Delhi's backing for the Gaza peace plan, he expressed hope that it would lead to a sustainable and enduring solution in the region.
The EAM mentioned that the number of Indian workers in Israel has been on the rise due to the two nations' mobility agreements.
“There are certain issues requiring attention, and I hope we can advance that aspect of our relations,” he emphasized.
Highlighting the significance of India-Israel strategic cooperation and the exchange of views on regional and global matters, Jaishankar said, “There are several plurilateral initiatives in which we both have a vested interest. I look forward to discussing this aspect as well.”
