Jammu, March 29 (NationPress) In a bid to encourage a drug-free lifestyle among the youth, the city hosted its inaugural international marathon—a 21-km half-marathon—on Sunday. Nuzhat Gul, the secretary of the J&K Sports Council, acknowledged that the rain posed a significant challenge, yet many participants showed up, demonstrating resilience while volunteers provided essential support.
Aijaz Qaiser, Joint Director of Tourism, remarked on the weather's impact, noting that everything was perfectly organized until 1 a.m. Fortunately, they managed to kick off the event on time despite the morning’s weather complications.
He added, “The enthusiasm shown by the people of Jammu, along with the participation of both national and international runners, is incredibly motivating.”
