Patna, Feb 18 (NationPress) Following the violent clash in Bihar’s Jamui, local police took Khusbhu Pandey into custody for inciting unrest in the area on Monday night.

District Magistrate Abhilasha Sharma confirmed the arrest, stating to IANS that Pandey faces allegations of delivering inciting speeches and raising objectionable slogans during the Hanuman Chalisa recital, which reportedly incited a clash between two communities.

Furthermore, Pandey and others are accused of organizing the event and gathering people without notifying the police.

A video purportedly showing Pandey delivering a hate speech at the event has also circulated on the internet.

Sub-Inspector Nandan Rai from Jhajha police station has filed charges against seven named individuals and 50 unidentified persons in relation to the incident.

After her arrest, Pandey underwent a medical examination at Sadar Hospital before being presented to the duty magistrate, who subsequently remanded her to judicial custody.

The event, organized by members of the Hindu Swabhiman group, escalated into violence when a mob attacked participants with stones and bricks as they were leaving the recital.

Several individuals, including Jamui Municipal Council Vice President Nitish Kumar Sahu and Pandey, known as 'Hindu Sherni', suffered serious injuries during the attack.

The assailants also damaged multiple vehicles during this chaos. In an effort to mitigate rising tensions, the district administration suspended internet services throughout Jamui to curb the spread of rumors and maintain communal harmony.

Authorities have detained several individuals in connection with this incident.

In the wake of recent clashes in Baliadih village, Jamui district, Bihar, authorities are intensifying efforts to apprehend all individuals involved.
