Scheme-wise Enrolment Figures
According to official data, the PMSBY — which provides accidental death and disability cover — has recorded the highest uptake with more than 58.09 crore enrolments, making it the largest of the three by subscriber base. The PMJJBY life insurance scheme has crossed 27.43 crore enrolments, while the pension-focused APY has brought in more than 9.04 crore individuals, all figures counted till 30 April 2025.
Claims Settled and Families Supported
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman highlighted the schemes' impact on bereaved and disabled families. The PMJJBY has settled claims worth more than ₹21,500 crore for over 10.7 lakh families, while the PMSBY has disbursed nearly ₹3,660 crore to over 1.84 lakh families. Sitharaman expressed appreciation for bank field functionaries and insurance company staff, crediting their on-ground efforts for the scale of adoption.
