New Delhi, Aug 1 (NationPress) Nearly 6.6 lakh new PM Jan Dhan Yojana accounts have been established, alongside over 22 lakh new enrollments in three Jan Suraksha Schemes within a single month, as reported by the Finance Ministry. The Nationwide Financial Awareness Saturation Campaign, which runs from July 1 to September 30, 2025, has marked a significant achievement in its inaugural month.
Led by the Department of Financial Services (DFS) under the Ministry of Finance, this campaign aims to ensure complete coverage across all Gram Panchayats (GPs) and Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), guaranteeing that every eligible citizen can access the benefits of these transformative initiatives.
The primary goal is to extend the advantages of flagship programs such as the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), and Atal Pension Yojana (APY) to approximately 2.70 lakh GPs and ULBs.
During the first month, these camps have acted as crucial points for community interaction, aiding in enrollment, updates, and awareness initiatives. A total of 99,753 camps have been organized across various districts, with progress reports compiled for 80,462 of these camps, according to the ministry.
As the campaign evolves, sustained efforts will focus on saturating GPs and ULBs while maximizing community involvement, in line with the broader vision of inclusive and sustainable progress. The government encourages individuals to visit these centers and leverage the benefits of the schemes through targeted advertisements and publicity about upcoming camps.
Furthermore, the government is dedicated to ensuring last-mile access to banking and financial services, grounded in the active and meaningful participation of stakeholders at all levels of implementation.
An impressive 55.44 crore Jan Dhan accounts have been opened in India, with 56 percent attributed to women, and the total deposits in these accounts have exceeded Rs 2.5 lakh crore as of May 21 this year.
