Jammu, March 10 (NationPress) Sunil Sharma, the Leader of Opposition (LoP) in J&K, expressed serious concerns regarding the alarming rise in crime rates, particularly in light of the recent discovery of three deceased individuals in Kathua. He stated that such criminal acts will be met with zero tolerance.

In a conversation with IANS, the J&K LoP mentioned that the Home Ministry is aware of the situation and is committed to reassuring the community that law enforcement will be relentless in their efforts to thwart the malicious plans of terrorists.

"The Home Secretary and the Directorate of Intelligence Bureau (DIB) have been dispatched to the site. There has been a noted escalation in criminal activities recently, and security forces have been instructed to respond appropriately. We will not allow any form of crime to persist," he remarked.

It is important to note that three individuals, Yogesh Singh, Darshan Singh, and Varun Singh, were reported missing on March 5, with their bodies later found in Kathua’s Ishu Nallah on March 8. This incident has sparked widespread outrage within the region. All three were last seen heading to a wedding in Lohai Malhar.

Following the filing of a missing persons report, security forces initiated a large-scale search operation, overseen by the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) and the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP). After an extensive six-hour search, the bodies were located.

This incident has raised suspicions regarding potential terrorist involvement in their disappearance. Union Minister Jitendra Singh asserted that they were murdered by terrorists and announced plans for a memorial to honor the victims.

Sunil Sharma reiterated his commitment to public safety, stating that it remains the top priority for security forces.

"The circumstances surrounding the discovery of the bodies have been communicated to the public. The Home Minister has assured me that swift measures will be implemented. Dependent on the investigation's findings, stringent actions will be enforced to counter any threats," he concluded.
