Jammu, March 10 (NationPress) Sunil Sharma, the Leader of Opposition (LoP) in J&K, has expressed alarm regarding the escalating crime rates, particularly in light of the recent discovery of three deceased individuals in Kathua. He asserted that such criminal activities will be unacceptable under any circumstances.

In a statement to IANS, the J&K LoP mentioned that the Home Ministry has acknowledged the situation and has assured the public that security forces will be relentless in their efforts to counter the malevolent intentions of terrorists.

"The Home Secretary and the Directorate of Intelligence Bureau (DIB) have been dispatched to the scene. There has been a noticeable rise in criminal activity recently, prompting security agencies to escalate their responses. We will not allow any form of crime to persist," he stated.

Notably, three individuals—Yogesh Singh, Darshan Singh, and Varun Singh—were reported missing on March 5, with their bodies subsequently found in Kathua’s Ishu Nallah on March 8, inciting widespread anger in the community. All three were last seen heading to a wedding in Lohai Malhar.

Following the missing persons report, security forces initiated an extensive search operation, led by the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP). It took a grueling six-hour operation to recover their bodies.

This incident has fueled suspicions regarding potential terrorist involvement in their disappearance. Union Minister Jitendra Singh suggested they were murdered by terrorists and pledged to build a memorial in their honor.

Sunil Sharma further reassured the community that the safety of the public is of utmost importance to the security forces.

"The situation has been clarified to the residents, including details on the recovery of the bodies. The Home Minister has promised that swift action will be implemented. Depending on the investigation's findings, strict measures will be taken to thwart any malicious plans," he concluded.
