Patna, April 16 (NationPress) A new political upheaval has emerged within the ruling NDA in Bihar after Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini recently put forward Samrat Choudhary as the potential Chief Ministerial candidate for the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections.

In light of the escalating speculation, Union Minister Chirag Paswan intervened to clarify the situation. While addressing reporters in Patna, Paswan stated: “Is there any doubt regarding Nitish Kumar? The NDA will contest under his guidance. He will remain the Chief Minister of Bihar post-2025.”

His remarks contradict Chief Minister Saini’s statements.

In response to Saini’s comment, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary also emphasized that Nitish Kumar will lead the NDA in the forthcoming elections.

Despite these efforts, JD-U appears skeptical about the damage control. On Wednesday, JD-U initiated an extensive poster campaign from its Patna headquarters, delivering a strong message to its allies.

A massive hoarding featuring the slogan: ‘25 se 30, Phir Se Nitish’ was prominently displayed, clearly indicating Nitish Kumar as the Chief Minister from 2025 to 2030.

Additional posters highlighted Nitish Kumar’s accomplishments in governance, employment, women empowerment, and social development with messages like: ‘Rozgar ka matlab’, ‘Nitish sarkar’, ‘sisters and daughters’ dreams realized’, ‘thanks to Nitish government’, and ‘entire Bihar is our family’.

Interestingly, these posters exclusively feature Nitish Kumar’s image, omitting any representation of NDA allies, subtly asserting JD-U’s supremacy.

Political observers speculate that the Haryana Chief Minister’s comments were a tactical maneuver by the BJP to assess reactions regarding alternative leadership in Bihar.

The backlash — both from within the BJP and JD-U — indicates that Nitish Kumar’s status as Chief Ministerial candidate remains secure, at least for the time being.

Adding further support to JD-U’s stance, Nishant Kumar, son of Nitish Kumar, asserted on Tuesday that Union Home Minister Amit Shah has already endorsed Nitish Kumar’s leadership for the 2025 elections.
