Patna, May 13 (NationPress) The spokesperson for Janata Dal (United), Neeraj Kumar, issued a strong condemnation against the Bihar Congress on Tuesday for disseminating images of four terrorists linked to the Pahalgam attack, labeling it a "despicable act" and demanding accountability from the party.
The uproar began after the official Bihar Congress account shared a post featuring the photographs of the four terrorists allegedly involved in the April 22 Pahalgam terror incident. The post criticized the effectiveness of India's recent military operation, stating: "Operation Sindoor is incomplete while the beasts of Pahalgam remain alive."
The Pahalgam attack resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals. In response, India initiated Operation Sindoor, targeting and destroying nine terrorist hideouts located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Following this, Pakistan reportedly launched drone and missile strikes, leading to further retaliatory actions from India. After a period of escalating tensions, a ceasefire was reportedly established on April 10. Against this backdrop of tension, the Bihar Congress's social media activity has sparked significant political controversy.
In a statement to IANS, JD-U’s Neeraj Kumar denounced the Congress's actions, accusing the party of undermining national security and disrespecting the sacrifices made by Indian soldiers.
"The Bihar Congress Committee has committed a heinous act by posting the image of terrorists without tagging the Home Ministry, the Ministry of External Affairs, or even their own national leadership like Rahul Gandhi or Mallikarjun Kharge," Kumar stated.
He further questioned the motives behind the post: "If you share the photograph of terrorists and claim they are still alive, are you suggesting you know their location? Then tell us, where are they? Is this how responsible politics is done?"
Kumar emphasized that such a post diminishes the valor of Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives during Operation Sindoor. He reiterated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had clearly stated that India had effectively targeted those responsible for the Pahalgam attack and had warned of decisive retaliation against any future threats.
"The Congress party must clarify whether it stands with the nation or is attempting to demoralize our armed forces. The post by Bihar Congress is not only irresponsible—it is criminal in nature," he added.
Neeraj Kumar also reaffirmed Prime Minister Modi’s firm position on India's diplomatic relations with Pakistan, stressing that dialogue would only occur on two matters: terrorism and the restoration of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made it clear that we will only engage on our terms. No country can mediate or dictate terms to us. There will be no sanctuary for terrorism, no universities for global jihad on PoK soil. The unity of 140 crore Indians and the valor of our military has made this possible," he concluded.
