Jharkhand: Surge in Demand for Ayushman Bharat Cards as Sahebganj Residents flock to the Center

Ranchi, Dec 15 (NationPress) The Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana (PM-JAY), since its inception in 2018, has become a pivotal program, fundamentally altering the healthcare framework of the nation. Over the years, millions of individuals and their families have gained advantages from this initiative, widely recognized as Ayushman Bharat.

In the Sahebganj district of Jharkhand, thousands have successfully obtained their Ayushman Bharat cards as part of the PM-JAY initiative, while many more applications are currently being processed. Numerous individuals are actively submitting requests to acquire Ayushman Health cards for themselves and their families.

Several beneficiaries of this program shared their experiences with IANS, highlighting the extensive range of benefits afforded by the scheme.

Aman Kumar Pandey, the co-ordinator for Ayushman Bharat at Sahibganj Sadar Hospital, indicated that health cards for beneficiaries are being produced based on their applications.

“A significant number of beneficiaries are visiting and obtaining their Ayushman cards. Even individuals aged 70 and above are eager to get their cards. They are visiting the center to have their Ayushman cards created,” he stated.

“Patients receive treatment at no cost. Even post-discharge, they continue to be provided with various medical services for the subsequent 15 days, free of charge,” he added.

“Individuals under 70 years of age are required to present their ration cards – red, blue, and yellow – along with their Aadhar cards to procure their Ayushman cards, while those over 70 need only present their Aadhar cards,” he explained.

Several patients and their family members also expressed their enthusiasm for the Ayushman Bharat cards and conveyed their appreciation to the Modi government for initiating such a beneficial program.

“We obtained our Ayushman card through the plan set forth by PM Modi. We are receiving complimentary treatment at hospitals. We have been informed that the cards will cover our medical expenses in the future as well,” remarked a beneficiary.

A retired educator noted to IANS that he and several of his colleagues were in the process of obtaining Ayushman Bharat cards as they had been promised medical support up to Rs 5 lakh.
