The Chief Minister attended a rehearsal for the Jhumoir dance at the Sarusajai stadium. He revealed that the Jhumoir Binodini dance will be performed on Monday afternoon in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The countdown to this event has commenced, with around 50 Heads of Missions in India and a distinguished gathering of dignitaries expected to attend.

The Chief Minister emphasized that the Jhumoir dance is an authentic art form from the tea garden communities of Assam. He stated, “Claims that Jhumoir dance originated from Jharkhand are incorrect. It is a genuine dance form of Assam's tea garden community.”

The state administration has made arrangements to broadcast the Jhumoir dance program to 8,000 tea gardens across Assam via LCD screens.

This dance event is organized in conjunction with the investment summit, ‘Advantage Assam 2.0’, scheduled for February 25 and 26 in Guwahati, which will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Previously, the Chief Minister indicated that the flawless execution of the Jhumoir dance would be supported through master training workshops, constituency-level sessions, district-level performances, and final rehearsals in Guwahati.

This initiative follows Assam’s achievement of a Guinness World Record for the largest Bihu dance performance.

According to the Chief Minister, “The aim of Advantage Assam 2.0 is to enhance infrastructure development and attract investment to the state. This two-day event is anticipated to attract investors from India and globally, reinforcing Assam's status as a new hub for investment in the country.”
