Srinagar, March 2 (NationPress) The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (JKSA) made a formal request on Monday for the intervention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar to assist in relocating Indian students from Iran to safer regions, according to officials.

JKSA's National Convenor Nasir Khuehami emphasized, "The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (JKSA) urgently seeks the involvement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar to swiftly facilitate the relocation of Indian students, especially those hailing from the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, to secure locations until a comprehensive evacuation initiative can be enacted, given the deteriorating security conditions in Iran due to ongoing airstrikes and increasing regional tensions."

"The current airstrikes have instilled widespread fear among students, leading many to express feelings of anxiety, uncertainty, and distress. Parents back home are extremely worried and apprehensive regarding their children's safety amid the rapidly escalating situation."

"Numerous educational institutions in affected areas have advised students to leave their campuses as a safety precaution due to the heightened tensions."

"With interruptions in air travel, limited mobility, and growing unrest, students are facing significant challenges in securing safe passage or arranging alternative travel options."

"Thus, the Association has called upon the Union government to take immediate and proactive steps, including close collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian Embassy in Tehran, to facilitate the relocation of students to safer places until the government can officially initiate a thorough evacuation operation."

There are currently over 1,200 Kashmiri students studying in Iran, along with several Kashmiri doctors and engineers.

Pro-Iran demonstrations persisted for the second consecutive day on Monday in the Kashmir Valley, as authorities implemented restrictions to limit public and vehicular movement.

The authorities also reduced internet speeds to prevent anti-national elements from sharing provocative content on social media.
