Major Drug Syndicate Disrupted in Jodhpur: Operation Reveals Hidden Manufacturing Unit
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Jaipur, April 4 (NationPress) – In a significant blow to drug trafficking operations, the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) in collaboration with Jodhpur Police has successfully dismantled a hidden drug manufacturing facility in the city, marking the second major operation in just 48 hours.
The coordinated effort resulted in the seizure of MD drugs, narcotic tablets, and premium chemical precursors valued at over Rs 2 crore from a luxurious flat located in the Ashapurna Platinum residential complex.
This operation was executed under the leadership of ADG Dinesh M.N., with teams organized by SP Gyanchand Yadav and Additional SP Narottam Verma. Vital intelligence from ASI Rakesh Jakhar and Constable Sumer Singh played a key role in pinpointing the flat for the raid, which revealed a fully operational drug production setup.
This operation came on the heels of the April 2 arrest of Ganpatram Bishnoi, whose residence in the Banar region had previously yielded over 3 kg of MD and 55 kg of precursor chemicals.
During questioning, Ganpatram disclosed that he was acting under the direction of the main suspect, Bharat Bishnoi, known by aliases Asuram or Lucky, who purportedly managed the drug operation from a rented flat in Ashapurna Platinum while concealing his identity.
Following this revelation, police gained access to Flat No. A-803, uncovering hidden supplies inside a wardrobe.
A bag marked “UMMUL” contained various narcotics and chemical substances, indicating the flat was functioning as a mini drug lab.
Investigations by teams from the FSL and NCB confirmed the presence of highly potent materials, including 366 grams of pure MD (Mephedrone) and 1.178 kg of superior chemical precursors, which are more potent than standard MD.
The authorities also confiscated over 2,000 narcotic tablets weighing 3.663 kg, in addition to various equipment and documentation. Items such as electronic weighing scales, packaging materials, tape, and Aadhaar cards associated with the suspects were also found.
Ganpatram confessed during interrogation that he was lured into the illicit trade due to financial hardship and increasing debts, with Bharat Bishnoi promising him financial relief. While Ganpatram is currently detained, Bharat Bishnoi remains at large.
Law enforcement continues to execute raids in pursuit of his capture.
Officials indicated that this operation thwarted the distribution of over 5 kg of narcotics, delivering a substantial setback to an organized drug syndicate operating in Jodhpur.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the full scope of the operation.
