Jaipur, Dec 17 (NationPress) The Rajasthan Police took decisive action on Wednesday, demolishing an MD drug production facility that had been covertly operating out of a poultry farm in Jhunjhunu district. This operation occurred just two days after a collaborative raid by the Maharashtra Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) and local police revealed the illegal activities. During the operation, authorities confiscated 10 kg of MD drugs, alongside foreign-made machinery and hazardous chemicals, with a total estimated value exceeding Rs 100 crore.

After the seizure, law enforcement demolished the storage facilities, machinery rooms, tin shed, and the boundary wall of the poultry farm using a bulldozer.

The operation was managed by Anil Sihag (31), who had set up the factory at his uncle Suresh Sihag’s poultry farm located in Nand ka Bas village, under the jurisdiction of the Dhanuri police station.

Anil, a Class 12 graduate engaged in agriculture, had been involved with the poultry farm since 2016-17. It was noted that around fifteen days prior, Anil, along with his associate Subhash Jat, initiated the production of MD drugs.

Authorities discovered multiple machines and significant quantities of dangerous chemicals stored within the farm's premises. Jhunjhunu Superintendent of Police (SP) Brijesh Jyoti Upadhyay emphasized that allowing premises for narcotics-related activities constitutes a crime under the NDPS Act. As the MD drug operation was found on the poultry farm, the structure was deemed unlawful and subsequently demolished.

“The accused was orchestrating the entire operation from two rooms within the poultry farm. Thus, we proceeded with the demolition of the illegal construction,” stated the SP, confirming that the crackdown on such illicit activities will persist.

Investigations disclosed that Anil and Subhash initially engaged in smuggling poppy husk. Subhash would transport poppy husk from Neemuch in his vehicle, while Anil accompanied him on approximately five to seven trips, earning around Rs 5,000 per trip.

The illicit substances were supplied to various hotels and roadside eateries. Eventually, Anil began sourcing poppy husk independently from Pappu Gurjar, an operator at a highway dhaba in Neemuch, selling it to an acquaintance in Taranagar, yielding savings of Rs 500-700 per kg.

During this period, he had a run-in with law enforcement. Anil's operation was ultimately halted on December 14 when he was apprehended in Sikar while attempting to deliver one kg of MDMA. The Maharashtra ANC arrested him at the Milan Hotel near the Collectorate in the early morning hours. During questioning, Anil provided information regarding his accomplices.

When police attempted to apprehend another suspect, Bijju, in Sikar, he managed to evade capture in his Swift car.

Following Anil's arrest, authorities took him to the poultry farm in Nand ka Bas, where they recovered the MD drug factory, machinery, and chemicals. Police officials indicated that additional arrests are anticipated as the investigation unfolds.
