Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Jaipur, April 3 (NationPress) In a significant operation, the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) has uncovered an illegal Mephedrone (MD) production facility situated on the rooftop of a residential property in Jodhpur, seizing drugs valued at Rs three crore.
Under the guidance of Additional Director General Dinesh M.N., the AGTF retrieved 3.055 kg of finished MD and 55.725 kg of dangerous chemicals, estimated to be worth around Rs three crore in the international market.
The suspect, Ganpatram Beniwal (40), originally from Mandali (Balotra) and currently living in Shankar Nagar, Banar, Jodhpur, was apprehended at the scene. Investigations indicated that Beniwal had collaborated with smugglers from Sanchore, identified as Asuram alias ‘Lucky’ and Bhanu, to settle debts totaling Rs 12 lakh. In a bid to repay the owed amount, he transformed his residence, known as “Beniwal Sadan,” into a covert drug manufacturing site. Further intelligence suggested that the seized chemicals were meant for producing an additional 60 kg of MD.
ADG Dinesh M.N. stated that the AGTF had been consistently receiving tips regarding drug syndicates in Jodhpur supplying MD to local dealers.
Following a precise tip-off received by AGTF ASI Rakesh Jakhar, a specialized team was assembled under the leadership of SP Gyanchand Yadav and ASP Narottam Lal Verma. Acting on this intelligence, a coordinated night operation was executed by the AGTF, ATS, DST, and the Banad Police Station.
The property, situated in a secluded area, was secured under the cover of darkness. Upon reaching the rooftop, officers discovered MD being dried on mattresses with electric bulbs, alongside chemical drums and electric stoves scattered throughout, confirming the location as a fully operational illegal drug lab.
The authorities confiscated 3.055 kg of processed MD, 55.725 kg of hazardous chemicals, including Dichloromethane, Max Fine Chem, De-ionized Water, and Jyoti Hydrotech, as well as electric stoves, nine buckets, stainless steel utensils, and various drug-processing apparatus.
ASI Rakesh Jakhar and Constable Sumer Singh were instrumental in the operation, supported technically by ASI Ramesh Kumar Yadav. The operation on the ground was capably led by Banad SHO Lekhraj and DST In-charge Khet Singh.
The investigation is now under the purview of Additional DCP Amrit Lal Jinger, with teams actively pursuing the primary suppliers, Asuram alias Lucky and Bhanu.
