Bengaluru, April 23 (NationPress) In response to the terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, the Minister for Large and Medium Industries in the Karnataka Congress-led government, M.B. Patil, has called for justice for the victims who lost their lives, asserting that the terrorists should be tracked down, shot, and eliminated.
Addressing the media on Wednesday, Minister Patil stated, “The security forces must be reinstated, the terrorists' hideouts must be identified, and they should be eliminated.”
“This act is utterly despicable. Innocent civilians and police personnel have been killed. We are taking steps to encourage tourists from Karnataka to return, but victims from any state deserve justice. All those responsible must be dealt with decisively,” he added.
Patil further urged the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, and the NDA government to take immediate and effective measures.
“Ruthless actions must be enforced. The forces that were withdrawn need to be reinstated, and terrorists hiding across Kashmir need to be tracked and eliminated,” he emphasized.
He demanded that all terrorist bases in Kashmir be identified and taken down.
Additionally, he called for the deployment of more forces and the detection and neutralization of terrorist hideouts.
“If Pakistan is involved, we must escalate pressure at the international level to isolate and corner them. Firm action against Pakistan is essential,” he remarked.
Minister Patil highlighted that the decision to withdraw forces based on the belief that peace had been restored was a significant error. “The locals were living peacefully and conducting their businesses. They did not support this act of terror.”
He noted that the attack occurred in a popular tourist destination, and the decreased security presence allowed terrorists to exploit the situation. “This was a brutal and inhumane attack on tourists and innocent individuals in Pahalgam. We unreservedly condemn it. These terrorists must be pursued and neutralized,” he reiterated.
“Our armed forces must be fortified. The central government should deploy additional forces, and terrorists should be dealt with firmly — they must face justice, including potential execution,” he asserted.
Patil also remarked that nations like Pakistan back such terror activities. “We need to take steps to expose them on global platforms,” he stated.
He emphasized that the local Muslim community condemned the attack. “This is not a religious issue. Terrorists have no caste or creed. They must be treated harshly. The locals did not endorse this act and were living peaceful lives. The government must take immediate action by reinstating the Army and securing infiltration points.”
He concluded by saying, “Although compensation will be provided, the lives lost can never be restored.”
