New Delhi, June 15 (NationPress) After a hiatus of five years, a group of devotees heading to Kailash Manasarovar in Tibet was ceremoniously flagged off on Sunday from Ghaziabad by Uttar Pradesh Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh.
The ceremonial send-off occurred at Indirapuram’s Yatra Bhavan, where the Minister officially inaugurated the pilgrimage. In total, 15 groups are set to depart from the Yatra Bhavan over the coming days, with special arrangements and facilities established to ensure the comfort and safety of all travelers.
Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh expressed pride in Ghaziabad being designated as the new starting point for this pilgrimage. “It is not merely a long wait, but a significant blessing for Uttar Pradesh. For the first time, devotees and pilgrims from across the nation will commence their sacred journey from this revered land of Ghaziabad, which is both my workplace and birthplace,” he stated. He emphasized that this moment signifies a spiritual milestone for the state and its residents.
Uttar Pradesh Minister Sunil Kumar Sharma conveyed his warm wishes to the pilgrims. “First, I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all embarking on this sacred pilgrimage to Kailash Manasarovar. May Lord Mahadev bless them, may their journey be smooth, and may everyone return home safely after completing their pilgrimage,” he remarked.
He further lauded the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, stating, “The world now recognizes Modi Ji as both a messenger and guardian of peace. Peace cannot be sustained without strength, and Modi Ji embodies both devotion and that strength.”
Spiritual leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam also addressed the audience, calling the event a moment of national pride for followers of Sanatan Dharma. “This is the era of Sanatan, and it is the era of India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh’s dynamic, popular, hardworking, and dedicated Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath,” he declared.
Expressing his gratitude for being invited to flag off the pilgrimage, he added, “It is an immense honor to be part of this occasion. This Yatra, filled with chants of ‘Bam Bam Bhole’ and ‘Har Har Mahadev’, is a source of pride not just for India, but for Sanatan followers worldwide.”
BJP MP Atul Garg emphasized the deep spiritual and cultural significance of the Yatra. “These traditions date back thousands of years. People have undertaken these pilgrimages seeking spiritual fulfillment. In the past, such journeys were overlooked, but under this government, they have been revived with respect and support,” he stated, commending the efforts of state and religious leaders.
The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, regarded as one of the most sacred pilgrimages in Hinduism and other Indic traditions, was halted in 2020 due to the global pandemic. It has now been revived from Ghaziabad, with the first group embarking on their spiritual journey.
