Mandya (Karnataka), May 31 (NationPress) The Karnataka BJP issued a warning on Saturday, stating that the Congress-led government in the state would be held accountable if the situation in the coastal region escalates.

The State BJP President B.Y. Vijayendra made these remarks while addressing inquiries regarding the recent turmoil in the coastal area.

Vijayendra directed his warning towards Home Minister G. Parameshwara, the minister overseeing Mangaluru district, Dinesh Gundu Rao, and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

“Numerous Hindu activists, including members of Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), are being detained under the pretext of the murder of a Muslim youth. The police are acting excessively, encouraged by the Congress-led government and its appeasement politics. If the situation spirals out of control, the Congress, the Home Minister, and the Chief Minister will bear responsibility,” Vijayendra cautioned.

He asserted that the newly formed Special Task Force (STF) aimed at ensuring communal harmony is specifically targeting Hindu and BJP activists. “The Congress has a malicious agenda against the state. If law and order deteriorate, they must be held accountable,” he emphasized.

In response to another question, he criticized the government, stating, “They used to criticize intelligence failures during Operation Sindoor. Now, with a Muslim man murdered in Mangaluru, where was their intelligence then?”

Commenting on the murder of Hindu activist Suhas Shetty, Vijayendra noted, “It is now evident how women were implicated in that case. There are rumors of foreign funding involved in these murders. Instead of conducting a thorough investigation, the state government is fixated on minority appeasement. They will face significant consequences for this in the future.”

He recalled the BJP's protests when the Hubballi riot cases were dismissed. “Even the High Court has criticized the state government and reprimanded them strongly,” he stated.

Vijayendra further alleged that the Congress-led Karnataka government is misappropriating public funds to support its party workers. He condemned the government’s recent directive to release honorarium funds for chairpersons and vice-chairpersons of the Guarantee Scheme Committees, labeling it as a misuse of taxpayers' money.

Vijayendra accused the Siddaramaiah-led government of neglecting to pay salaries to state employees and failing to secure funding for its guarantee schemes. “This is the same government that is resorting to taxing waste, revealing its mismanagement,” he remarked.

He added that there has been no development work across the state, and MLAs are struggling due to insufficient grants. “Meanwhile, the poor are being burdened by price hikes. If elections were to take place today, Congress would face a devastating defeat, as recent surveys indicate,” he claimed. “The public is actively demanding the ousting of this anti-poor government.”

He cited a recent incident where a three-and-a-half-year-old child died allegedly due to a delay in treatment caused by a lack of medicines and police harassment. “The child, bitten by a dog, was taken to a hospital that did not have the necessary medicines. While being transferred to another hospital, the child passed away. Police interference contributed to the delay, which stemmed from pressure from the state government,” Vijayendra alleged.

“The government has assigned targets to all departments, including the police, due to a lack of funds for guarantee schemes,” he claimed.

Vijayendra concluded by stating that the BJP is advocating for Hemavathi water for all taluks of Tumakuru district and justice for farmers. “Arresting a few BJP leaders will not quell the protests. Tumakuru district is being treated unjustly. We will initiate a larger agitation soon,” he declared.

Point of View

The Congress government must also navigate the complexities of communal harmony and public safety. As this situation evolves, a nuanced approach is essential for maintaining peace and trust within the community.
