Mandya, May 8 (NationPress) Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced on Thursday that the state government has issued a statewide alert in light of Operation Sindoor. Speaking to journalists in Mandya, CM Siddaramaiah emphasized, “We have issued alerts at all locations, including reservoirs, due to the potential for unforeseen events. Therefore, we have implemented precautionary measures.”
In response to inquiries regarding the directive for special prayers at temples throughout the state, CM Siddaramaiah explained that instructions were given by officials after discussions with Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy.
“We have successfully deported all Pakistani nationals. Those residing in Mysuru have taken legal action; otherwise, all have been returned. I lack the exact numbers regarding those sent back from Karnataka,” CM Siddaramaiah articulated.
When questioned about mock drills, the CM stated, “Mock drills are actively being conducted in various locations, adhering to the directives of the Central government.”
Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara reassured that the state possesses sufficient security personnel, ensuring comprehensive monitoring and vigilance at critical installations. He elaborated, “Karnataka maintains the necessary security forces; there has been no reduction in numbers. We are currently processing proposals for additional recruitment.”
In reference to the developments following the terrorist incident in Pahalgam and Operation Sindoor, Parameshwara noted that the Central government has issued specific directives. “Three districts have been earmarked for mock drills, with Mysuru additionally included in this initiative, based on intelligence and other significant factors. All district Superintendents of Police have been briefed on the situation's seriousness,” he stated.
Addressing a media inquiry, he mentioned, “The topic of a caste census may be raised in the cabinet discussions. However, the cabinet meeting agenda has not yet been published and will be available later today.”
