Bengaluru, May 8 (NationPress) Temples throughout Karnataka conducted special prayers on Thursday morning, honoring the deities to celebrate the success of 'Operation Sindoor' and seeking blessings for the well-being of Indian armed forces personnel, as directed by the Congress-led state government.
With over 34,000 temples under the Muzrai Department, the Karnataka government had mandated these special prayers to commemorate the achievement of 'Operation Sindoor'.
Priests performed special worship in honor of the Indian armed forces and soldiers, including a 'Sankalpa puja' aimed at fortifying and safeguarding the troops.
Across various temples in the North Karnataka region, a 'mangalsutra' (a sacred necklace symbolizing marital commitment) was placed before the deity as part of the rituals.
Special prayers and offerings were made to invoke divine blessings for the nation's defenders.
Noteworthy arrangements for prayers for the strength and well-being of the Indian Army took place at the historic Gavi Gangadhareshwara Temple in Bengaluru from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m., and at the renowned Banashankari Temple in Bengaluru from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Speaking to reporters, Vijayendra remarked, “Operation Sindoor was initiated due to the decisive leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to eradicate terrorism and dismantle their safe havens. We prayed for India's success in combating terrorism.”
“We also prayed for the strength and protection of our soldiers. The entire world is observing India, as terrorism affects nations globally. We have prayed for its eradication,” he added.
“I have instructed all party members at the district, mandal, and taluk levels to organize special prayers on Thursday and Friday for the success of our armed forces in this fight against terrorism,” Vijayendra stated.
