Mysuru, April 26 (NationPress) In response to discussions about initiating a conflict with Pakistan following the tragic Pahalgam terrorist incident that resulted in the deaths of 26 tourists, Karnataka's Chief Minister Siddaramaiah expressed on Saturday that engaging in war with Pakistan is not warranted at this time.

Addressing the media in Mysuru, CM Siddaramaiah stated, “There is no requirement to engage in war against Pakistan. Stringent security protocols need to be put in place. We do not support warfare. It is crucial to maintain peace, ensure the safety of citizens, and the Central government must provide robust security measures.”

When queried about the Central government acknowledging a security oversight in Pahalgam, the Chief Minister remarked, “I have been candid regarding the security failure that contributed to the Pahalgam attack. Adequate security should have been established. That location was a popular tourist destination. Previously, in Pulwama, 40 soldiers lost their lives, and caution should have been prioritized.”

He further added, “There was a dual failure in intelligence and security. The populace thought they were safe, yet the Central government failed to ensure their protection. The public placed their trust in them, but the Central government disappointed them.”

“No matter what actions are taken now, will the 26 individuals who perished in the Pahalgam attack return?” CM Siddaramaiah questioned.

When he was asked about the report indicating the absence of security personnel at the site, he replied, “I am not aware. I need to consult State Labour Minister Santosh Lad, who was dispatched to Kashmir following the Pahalgam incident to obtain further details.”

Minister Lad successfully returned all individuals from Karnataka who were stranded in Jammu and Kashmir.

Concerning the deportation of Pakistani nationals from the state, CM Siddaramaiah commented, “We will assist. We will relay information to the Central government and take action to facilitate their return. I lack detailed knowledge about the Pakistani nationals residing in various cities in Karnataka. However, a significant number are located in Bengaluru.”

In a critique of the Prime Minister, CM Siddaramaiah stated, “The Prime Minister should have attended the all-party meeting convened following the Pahalgam terror attack. They are misleading the public. What holds greater significance — the Bihar election campaign or the all-party meeting?”
