Bengaluru, May 23 (NationPress) Union Minister H. D. Kumaraswamy stated on Friday that a minister from the Siddaramaiah Cabinet is accountable for state Home Minister G. Parameshwara encountering difficulties.
Recently, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) carried out raids on entities associated with Home Minister Parameshwara concerning a gold smuggling case.
During a media briefing in New Delhi on Friday, Union Minister Kumaraswamy asserted that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is aware of the minister in his cabinet who has ensured that Parameshwara faces trouble.
According to sources, Kumaraswamy's remarks indirectly pointed towards Deputy CM D. K. Shivakumar.
"This minister was the one who disclosed information regarding actress Ranya Rao bringing in gold," H. D. Kumaraswamy stated.
The Union Minister further revealed that Parameshwara had tried to organize a Dalit convention, suggesting he was preparing to become the next Chief Minister.
"In response, a Congress leader unhappy with Parameshwara's initiative made sure he encountered issues. Doesn't Chief Minister Siddaramaiah know all this?" asked Kumaraswamy.
He alleged that the information provided to the ED originated from a Congress leader who is keen to ascend as Chief Minister, again indirectly referencing Deputy Chief Minister Shivakumar.
"Siddaramaiah has access to an intelligence wing. He is aware of everything," the Union Minister added.
Despite these developments, Congress leaders, including National General Secretary and Karnataka In-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala and MLC B. K. Hariprasad, have persistently criticized the Central government concerning the ED raids on Parameshwara's institutions, noted the Union Minister.
"This situation arose because of a prominent leader within the Karnataka Congress party," he reiterated.
On the recent decision to rename Ramanagara district to Bengaluru South district, Kumaraswamy again aimed criticism at Deputy Chief Minister Shivakumar. "They are altering the district's name to elevate their land prices," he claimed.
Kumaraswamy highlighted that previously, the Bengaluru Rural district was established to enhance development by integrating areas like Doddaballapura and Devanahalli. "However, this new district is merely created to inflate land values," he argued.
"They will not stay in power indefinitely. A change is on the horizon, and I am confident of that," he reiterated, directing his criticism towards Shivakumar.
"They've initiated a Special Investigation Team (SIT) over land I acquired 40 years ago and are targeting me. Yet, 50% of their lands belong to the government. I know what they have done. Who encroached upon Dalit land in Shantinagar?" Kumaraswamy questioned.
