Koppal, Feb 6 (NationPress) Karnataka Kannada and Culture Minister Shivaraj Tangadgi experienced an uncomfortable situation on Thursday when he mistakenly wrote a grammatically flawed Kannada term in front of students in Koppal district.

Following the inauguration of an Anganwadi center in Karatagi, the minister wrote the term 'Shubhavagali' (which translates to good luck) with a minor grammatical mistake.

This blunder sparked a debate regarding the minister's command of the language.

When questioned about the error, Minister Shivaraj Tangadgi replied, "I possess common sense, and I am not uneducated. This marks my 12th year in power. Don't the residents of my constituency recognize my language proficiency? I hold a BSc and have common sense. The patience of a human being should not be tested."

He elaborated, "The constituents are aware of my performance and comprehend the facts. I was jotting down something else when the officials suggested I write a term that signifies good fortune. There was indeed a minor grammatical slip, likely because I was momentarily sidetracked. However, depicting me as someone incapable of writing is erroneous."

Expressing his discontent, he remarked, "I cannot comment further on this incident. I am a graduate, yet the media lacked the patience to wait for me to finish my writing. The individual who recorded the video also showed impatience. I am not that uneducated. I have completed my degree and possess common sense when I write. I have been a reader all my life - have I ever read inaccurately?"

He continued, "I deliver addresses on all national occasions. Has there ever been a moment where I misread something from a prepared address? Have I ever mispronounced a term? I don’t harbor grievances, but you should evaluate my competencies before challenging me," he stated emphatically.
