Mysuru, July 18 (NationPress) A crucial political shift is anticipated in Karnataka this November, according to BJP state president and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra. He highlighted the ongoing discord and internal strife within the Congress-led administration in the state.
During a media interaction on Friday, he addressed inquiries regarding a potential leadership alteration within the Congress government.
"Every tactic and plot has its boundaries. Congress leaders have acknowledged that a 2.5-year power-sharing agreement was established between Siddaramaiah and Dy CM D.K. Shivakumar, facilitated by the Congress high command concerning the Chief Minister’s role. The moment has arrived for Siddaramaiah to step down," he asserted.
"The Congress administration has been in power for two and a half years, yet what have they accomplished? The public is expressing their discontent. The administrative framework has utterly crumbled. The government is struggling to generate funds for its guarantee schemes and is imposing burdens on street vendors through GST collections," he claimed.
In response to another question, he mentioned that the BJP is effectively fulfilling its role as an opposition and is pleased with its performance.
Vijayendra remarked, "The BJP previously appointed Ram Nath Kovind as the Honourable President of India and has now promoted a tribal woman, Droupadi Murmu, to the same office. In contrast, he charged the Congress and the Gandhi family with disrespecting former Chief Minister Devaraj Urs by ousting him from power. Even if Siddaramaiah has forgotten this, the people of Karnataka have not. Siddaramaiah is fixated on erasing Devaraj Urs' legacy. He needs to recall the indignity Congress inflicted upon Urs.
Vijayendra further accused CM Siddaramaiah of organizing "Sadhana Samaveshas (achievement conventions)" solely to protect his position as CM. "He continues to court the AHINDA communities (a Kannada acronym for minorities, backward classes, and Dalits), but today his facade has crumbled. He has not delivered justice to these communities," he stated.
"Wasn’t Siddaramaiah parading the streets with the caste census report just to secure his CM position? Didn’t he discard that very report at Rahul Gandhi's command? For Siddaramaiah, the AHINDA communities are merely a vote bank, not a matter of genuine concern or dedication," he added.
The BJP leader also labeled the convention in Mysuru on July 19, Siddaramaiah's hometown, as merely a scheme to pressure the Congress high command.
Vijayendra questioned, "What progress have you brought to the Mysuru district to justify such a convention?"
He contended that these gatherings are not about development but rather a tactic to exert pressure on the Congress high command, as Siddaramaiah is nearing a potential resignation from his CM role.
"The BJP conducted a padayatra against the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scam, and out of fear, Siddaramaiah organized public meetings in Mysuru and beyond. Each time there’s a threat to Siddaramaiah's CM position or discussions of resignation arise, he suddenly remembers the AHINDA communities," he concluded.
