Hyderabad, June 11 (NationPress) Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC K. Kavitha met with her father and party president K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) at his residence in Siddipet district on Wednesday.
This marks her initial encounter with the former chief minister following the leakage of a confidential letter she sent him, in which she made a provocative claim that he is "surrounded by devils."
Kavitha visited Erravalli in Siddipet to express her support for KCR ahead of his appearance before the P. C. Ghose Commission, which is investigating alleged irregularities related to the Kaleshwaram project.
KCR, accompanied by prominent leaders of BRS, departed for Hyderabad in a convoy for the Commission hearing.
The meeting occurred nearly three weeks after Kavitha's statement that KCR is a god, yet there are devils around him causing substantial harm to the party.
Her shocking accusations, made upon her return from the United States on May 23, sparked significant turmoil within the party, revealing existing rifts in the BRS.
Kavitha also indicated that there are efforts to transfer control of the BRS to the BJP and attributed her defeat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections to certain party leaders.
She disclosed that the idea of merging BRS with the BJP was presented while she was incarcerated in the Delhi liquor policy case, which she vehemently opposed.
Countering speculations about her intentions to create a separate party, Kavitha affirmed her commitment to BRS and her dedication to working under KCR's leadership.
She accused factions within the party of attempting to alienate her from her family and the party itself.
“KCR is my sole leader in the BRS. I will operate solely under his guidance,” she stated, indirectly addressing her brother K.T. Rama Rao, who has long been seen as KCR's successor.
The MLC criticized BRS leaders for their lack of protests regarding the notices issued to KCR in connection with the Kaleshwaram project.
Last week, Kavitha held a protest under the banner of Telangana Jagruthi, the cultural wing of BRS that she leads.
On Tuesday, she also spearheaded a protest against an increase in student bus pass fares by the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC), resulting in her detention by police.
