Hyderabad, May 29 (NationPress) In a stunning revelation, K. Kavitha, a member of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) legislative council, asserted on Thursday that certain party leaders were behind her loss in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and that there are ongoing efforts to transfer control of BRS to the BJP.
Kavitha disclosed that the idea of merging BRS with the BJP surfaced while she was incarcerated due to the Delhi liquor policy case. During that period, she vehemently opposed the proposal.
While dismissing rumors regarding her intention to launch a separate party, Kavitha affirmed her commitment to BRS and her dedication to working under the guidance of her father and former Chief Minister K.C. Rao, widely known as KCR.
In an informal discussion with reporters, she accused certain factions of trying to separate her from her family and the party.
Her explosive comments arise amidst speculation about growing tensions within KCR's family and her disagreements with her brother, K.T. Rama Rao, who serves as the BRS Working President.
Kavitha, whose private correspondence to KCR was recently made public, expressed concern about being targeted through paid media and online harassment for seeking clarification on the letter's leak.
She expressed disappointment that the daughter of the party is being attacked without any response from BRS. Kavitha questioned why she is being targeted for advocating that internal party issues be addressed.
The MLC made a shocking assertion that certain party leaders had conspired against her in the Nizamabad Lok Sabha constituency. 'My own party leaders plotted my defeat,' Kavitha claimed.
Furthermore, she mentioned that she considered resigning following her arrest in the Delhi liquor case, but KCR advised her against taking that step.
Kavitha refuted claims made by some media outlets that she had engaged in discussions with the Congress party. 'KCR is my sole leader in BRS, and I will operate solely under his guidance. I have no intentions of betrayal; I confront matters directly,' she stated.
She reiterated that there is no necessity for a new political party. 'It suffices to manage our existing party effectively,' Kavitha remarked.
Kavitha defended the points raised in her letter to KCR, questioning whether others have become so powerful as to overshadow KCR. 'I cannot pretend to be content while harboring resentment. I have written numerous letters to my father; what is wrong with that? Typically, KCR discards the letters after reading them, but this time, he did not. I am unaware of who is behind this scheme, but I am determined to expose them,' she expressed.
In additional comments seemingly directed at her brother K.T. Rama Rao, Kavitha noted that the party has not adequately responded to the notice issued to KCR by the P.C. Ghose Commission regarding the Kaleshwaram project. She emphasized that the party should limit its responses to social media platforms.
