New Delhi, Jan 28 (NationPress) Shiv Sena leader Manisha Kayande vehemently criticized Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge's comments about the Maha Kumbh, questioning his grasp of religious traditions.

In a direct confrontation, Kayande posed the questions, “Has Kharge never visited a temple? Does he not have a picture of God in his home? When he attends temples, is it to eliminate poverty? Has he ever immersed himself in the Ganga or visited any sacred sites? Religious festivals should not be belittled. These unfounded remarks are erroneous.”

Kayande’s response came after Kharge’s earlier statements made during the 'Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhan' rally in Madhya Pradesh, where he stated, “I don’t wish to question anyone’s faith. If anyone feels offended, I apologize. But tell me, when a child is starving, not attending school, and laborers are denied their earnings, is it appropriate for these individuals to spend vast sums competing for sacred immersions?”

Many interpreted Kharge's comments as an effort to underscore the contrast between religious festivities and pressing social issues such as hunger and inequality.

In her rebuttal, Kayande not only addressed the religious aspect but also criticized the Opposition alliance, labeling it a “gang.” “The INDIA bloc is the largest gang from Wasseypur,” she asserted, adding, “I have previously stated that the INDIA alliance is fractured. They are merely projecting a false sense of unity. In truth, it has been divided for a considerable time. Even during elections, they continuously blame one another. Post-elections, they will turn on each other.”
