Patna, Jan 28 (NationPress) A significant legal action has been initiated by Advocate Sudhir Kumar Ojha, a notable lawyer from the Muzaffarpur district court, against the national president of Congress, Mallikarjun Kharge, regarding his purported comments on the Maha Kumbh.

The complaint, presented in the Chief Judicial Magistrate's court, accuses Kharge of intentionally offending the sentiments of Hindus. This grievance relates to statements made by Kharge during a public gathering in Mhow city, Madhya Pradesh, which Ojha claims were aimed at ridiculing Sanatan Dharma and disrespecting the devotees of Ganga Maiya (Ganges River) and the Kumbh Mela.

“His remarks have deeply hurt the sentiments of Hindus who honor the sacred Ganga and actively participate in the Kumbh. His public statement seems designed to attract political attention and benefits for his party,” Ojha asserted.

Furthermore, Ojha has called upon the court to take appropriate legal measures against Kharge, suggesting that his comments were a calculated effort to provoke and belittle Hindu religious traditions.

The upcoming hearing for this case is set for February 3.

These remarks have ignited robust responses from various Hindu organizations and individuals who regard the Kumbh as a profoundly cherished spiritual custom.

During the rally in Mhow, Kharge questioned the efficacy of bathing in the Ganga to alleviate poverty or address pressing issues such as hunger, unemployment, and education.

Kharge stated, “Does bathing in the Ganga River eliminate poverty? Are people receiving food? Children are perishing from hunger and are unable to attend school. Laborers are not receiving their wages. Meanwhile, there is fierce competition among BJP leaders to bathe in the Ganga River. They are investing substantial amounts to participate in these competitions. Such individuals will not contribute positively to the country.”
