Hyderabad, Sep 22 (NationPress) Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar has taken aim at Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader and former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao along with his family, accusing them of having connections to a luxury car scam.
He emphasized the need for the truth to be revealed and stated that he would urge the relevant departments to conduct an investigation.
“Is the Car Party operating with smuggled luxury vehicles?” posed Bandi Sanjay in a post on ‘X’, seemingly targeting the BRS, whose official election symbol is a ‘car’.
Bandi Sanjay also directed his criticism towards BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao. “Why is ‘Twitter Tillu’ seen riding in land cruisers imported by Basarath Khan, a luxury car dealer arrested by DRI Ahmedabad?” he queried.
The BJP leader frequently mocks K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) by referring to him as ‘Twitter Tillu’.
“Why are these vehicles registered under companies associated with KCR’s family? Were they purchased at fair market value or significantly undervalued? What were the payment methods—benami, concealed income, or laundering? Doesn’t this implicate KCR’s family as direct beneficiaries of this scheme? The truth must emerge. We will ask the relevant authorities to look into this,” stated Bandi Sanjay.
In May 2025, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) apprehended Basarath Ahmed Khan, a luxury car dealer based in Hyderabad, in relation to a customs duty evasion operation tied to the importation of high-end vehicles.
In response to Bandi Sanjay’s remarks, BRS leader Krishank Manne questioned why Telangana BJP leaders target KTR while overlooking Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. “If acquiring a car from a dealer constitutes a crime, then the MoS for Home should arrest all Congress and BJP leaders who have purchased cars from this dealer, who is closely associated with your ally Revanth, whom your agencies are shielding,” he contended, sharing photographs of Revanth Reddy with the car dealer.
“Why not scrutinize Revanth's involvement? Is it that Revanth is protecting you from your Granite dealings? Bandi, apart from personal attacks, have you contributed anything to the state of Telangana?” the BRS leader challenged.
“It seems your BJP Legal Cell is preemptively filing Caveats out of fear of legal repercussions. Are they so confident of your reputation for making inflammatory statements?” added Manne.
