Hyderabad, Jan 8 (NationPress) Union Minister of State (MoS) for Home Affairs and prominent BJP figure Bandi Sanjay Kumar accused the former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) of consistently deceiving the populace regarding Krishna river waters.

Bandi Sanjay asserted that Telangana is entitled to 571 TMC of Krishna water, yet KCR consented to only 299 TMC.

During a press conference held in Karimnagar, he contended that both the Congress and the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) have spotlighted river water issues to obscure their inadequacies.

Bandi Sanjay remarked that both parties have let Telangana down concerning irrigation issues.

He noted that the Congress party failed to make use of the state's rightful share in river waters.

He further criticized KCR, claiming he has repeatedly let down the people of Telangana.

According to the MoS, Telangana's allocation of Krishna waters was not fully utilized during the preceding BRS administration.

Despite the pressing need for water in Telangana, the rightful share remained untapped.

“Telangana is entitled to 571 TMC of Krishna water, but KCR accepted only 299 TMC. He must provide an explanation to the people regarding this decision,” he emphasized.

The MoS charged the BRS with corruption concerning the irrigation project.

“It is common knowledge what transpired with the Kaleshwaram project, which was constructed at a staggering cost of Rs 1 lakh crore,” he stated.

He alleged that upon securing a second term in Telangana, the BRS engaged in 'loot' under the guise of the Palamuru-Rangareddy lift irrigation project.

The previous BRS-led state government inflated estimates relating to the construction of canals and lifts, the MoS claimed.

Bandi Sanjay explained that the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act of 2014 stipulates that no objections exist for projects that were underway at the time of Telangana's bifurcation.

“Nevertheless, the Palamuru-Rangareddy project is not included in this list,” he added.

He alleged that despite Andhra Pradesh diverting four TMC of water through the Pothireddypadu project, the BRS did nothing to intervene.

Bandi Sanjay mentioned that KCR's daughter, K. Kavitha, is revealing the corruption that transpired during the prior BRS administration.

He concluded by stating that the BJP will stand by anyone who exposes corruption in Telangana.
