Hyderabad, July 10 (NationPress) - The former Chief Minister of Telangana and president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), K. Chandrasekhar Rao, has been readmitted to a private hospital for further medical evaluations.
The 71-year-old politician was admitted to Yashoda Hospital in Somajiguda on Thursday upon the recommendation of his doctors. He was accompanied by his wife, Shobha, nephew and former Minister T. Harish Rao, along with other family members.
Commonly referred to as KCR, he was initially admitted to the same facility on July 3 after tests revealed high blood sugar and low sodium levels, although all other vital signs were reported as normal. Treatment began to stabilize his blood sugar and address the sodium deficiency, and he was discharged on July 5.
After his discharge, KCR was instructed to rest for a week, with physicians indicating that he would need another hospitalization for additional tests.
During his previous hospital stay, KCR conducted a meeting with BRS members to discuss current political dynamics in the state.
In December 2023, he had undergone hip replacement surgery at this same hospital following a fracture sustained from a fall at his Erravalli farmhouse.
In light of KCR’s hospitalization, Harish Rao has postponed his scheduled appearance before the P.C. Ghose Commission. He had requested a meeting with the Commission to provide further details regarding ongoing investigations.
The Commission is currently examining alleged irregularities related to the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project initiated during the BRS governance. It is led by retired Supreme Court judge Pinaki Chandra Ghose and is scrutinizing aspects such as planning, design, construction, and maintenance of the Medigadda, Annaram, and Sundilla Barrages.
Harish Rao had previously appeared before the Commission on June 9, while KCR testified on June 11.
