Kejriwal Accuses BJP of Voter List Manipulation in Delhi

New Delhi, Dec 29 (NationPress) AAP national convenor and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has launched a furious attack on the BJP, accusing them of trying to manipulate the voter lists. He also claimed that 'Operation Lotus' has been in effect since December 15 in his Assembly constituency.
Kejriwal asserted that the BJP is devoid of a Chief Ministerial candidate, vision, or credible strategies, and is resorting to dishonest means to achieve electoral success, thereby threatening the integrity of Indian democracy.
"They lack a CM face, vision, and credible candidates. Their only objective is to win the elections through dishonest tactics, putting Indian democracy at risk. However, the people of Delhi will not allow this to occur," stated Kejriwal.
He pointed out issues regarding voter deletions in the Shahdara constituency, where the BJP allegedly filed requests to remove 11,008 voters. "We secured victory in that area. If those votes were removed, it could have had serious repercussions for us. I extend my gratitude to the Chief Election Commissioner for intervening and averting this situation," he commented.
Kejriwal went on to allege that 'Operation Lotus' commenced in his own New Delhi constituency on December 15. "In just 15 days, they filed applications to delete 5,000 voters and add 7,500. With 1,06,000 voters in my constituency, they are attempting to delete 5 percent while adding 7.5 percent. If 12 percent of the votes are manipulated, what is the purpose of elections? This is a blatant distortion of democracy," he stated.
The Election Commission conducted a summary revision of the voter list from August 20 to October 20, with an updated list released on October 29.
"For context, a summary revision was performed in Delhi from August 20 to October 20, where the Election Commission's team verified voters door-to-door. They updated the list based on this verification, and on October 29, the Election Commission published the revised voter list after finalizing the summary revision," explained Kejriwal.
"If the BJP claims that 12 percent of votes are invalid, it raises significant questions regarding the Election Commission's report," he added.
Kejriwal further revealed that among 500 deletion requests investigated, 408 individuals were found to be residing at their stated addresses, rendering the requests questionable. He named individuals like Sarvesh Kumar, Vishal, and Pawan Kumar Singh as being complicit in these actions.
"The deletion of valid citizens' voting rights is unconstitutional. According to the law, if voter deletion requests exceed 2 percent in any constituency, they must be verified personally by the Electoral Registration Officer," he stated.
Accusing the BJP of bribing voters, Kejriwal remarked, "I advised people that accepting money is not right, but they responded, 'We will accept their money but vote only for you.' The public is quite astute."
