Kerala Actress and Rape Survivor Appeals to President for Justice

Kochi, Dec 10 (NationPress) A renowned actress from Kerala, who endured a sexual assault in 2017, has now sought the intervention of President Droupadi Murmu in her quest for justice after she "failed to receive it from the Kerala High Court and the Supreme Court".
She has turned to the President following her report that the memory card containing recordings of the assault was accessed, copied, and transferred without authorization while it was in the court's custody.
With confirmation that this unauthorized access and transfer of the disturbing footage occurred, she expressed her disappointment that no actions have been taken against those responsible, despite her numerous appeals.
Actor Dileep is implicated in the case and spent nearly three months in jail in 2017. He is currently on bail.
The assault took place in 2017 when she was attacked in a moving vehicle in Kochi. The primary accused, Pulsar Suni, was recently granted bail by the Supreme Court after spending seven years in prison.
Suni had been employed as a driver on film sets since 2010 and had previously served as the personal driver for actor-turned-CPI-M MLA Mukesh before being dismissed. Afterward, he continued to work as a driver on film sets, which made him a familiar figure among many actors in the Malayalam film industry.
Evidence suggests that Suni was acquainted with Dileep, who is the eighth accused in the actor abduction case.
According to police reports, Dileep and the victim did not share a good rapport, as he was upset with her over an alleged tip-off to his former wife regarding his relationship with another actress.
The horrific event unfolded when Suni, alongside other co-accused—who were all his close friends—abducted and sexually assaulted the actress while she was traveling from a film shoot in Thrissur to Kochi on February 17, 2017. It was these recordings that were leaked from the court, prompting the actress to seek justice from the President.
