Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 6 (NationPress) A total of 28 individuals from Kerala who were reported stranded following a cloudburst in Uttarakhand have been confirmed safe.
This confirmation came from the president of the Uttarakhand Malayali Samajam, Dinesh.
“We verified the information through the driver of the group, and an official confirmation regarding their safety has also been received,” stated Dinesh.
Moreover, the relatives of those stranded confirmed that the vehicle has been located.
This group was found stranded approximately 4 km from Gangotri, the main site of the disaster.
The individuals from Kerala were on a pilgrimage and became stranded due to blocked roads, complicating their return.

Efforts are underway to reopen closed routes, and all possible assistance is being provided to those affected," CM Dhami stated in a post on X.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP and actress-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut expressed profound sorrow, stating: “Everyone is deeply pained by this incident. Those residing in the hills are engulfed by fear due to such natural calamities.”
