Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 21 (NationPress) The final electoral roll for Kerala has been released on Saturday evening, marking the conclusion of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), with a total voter count of 2,69,53,644.
In the initial phase of the SIR initiative, 2.78 crore forms were distributed throughout the State.
Following meticulous reviews, hearings, and adjustments across all 140 Assembly constituencies, the electoral rolls were officially finalized.
As per the Chief Electoral Officer’s office, 9,06,211 names were eliminated from the voters’ list during the revision.
Of these, 53,229 names were removed after statutory hearings, which included deceased individuals during the enumeration period, those who obtained foreign citizenship, voters who changed residence, and instances of duplication.
Simultaneously, 4,24,518 new voters were incorporated into the finalized roll.
From October 27 last year to January 30, 2026, the Election Commission accepted 13,51,151 new applications (Form 6) for registration. Additionally, 1,59,111 applications (Form 6A) from expatriates aiming for registration as overseas voters were sanctioned.
During the revision phase, 24,28,639 applications were processed for inclusion or removal, while 3,93,333 applications were approved for existing entry corrections.
The Commission also issued 36,88,948 notices for hearings after the draft roll publication.
The final electoral roll comprises 1,38,27,319 women and 1,31,26,048 men.
The count of transgender voters is 277, and 2,23,558 Non-Resident (overseas) voters are included.
The Election Commission has reiterated that enrollment opportunities remain.
Names can be added until the deadline for filing nominations for the forthcoming Assembly elections.
Voters may verify their information through the Election Commission’s online portal using their voter ID number, name, relative’s name, date of birth, or mobile number.
The booth-level final electoral roll under SIR 2026 is also accessible on the official website of the Chief Electoral Officer.
With the finalized roll established, preparations are set to accelerate ahead of the upcoming Assembly polls, which are anticipated to be announced soon.
