New Delhi, March 20 (NationPress) The Delhi Police Crime Branch has apprehended a 27-year-old individual sought in connection with an attempted murder case stemming from a shooting incident in Keshav Puram, located in northern Delhi, as reported by officials on Friday.

The suspect, Zishan Ahmad Idrishi, who resides in B-Block of Keshav Puram, had been on the run following his alleged involvement in a shooting along with accomplices during an event on Diwali night last year.

As per police records, the case was documented as FIR No. 583/25, filed under Sections 109(1)/3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Section 27 of the Arms Act, 1959 at the Keshav Puram Police Station. This incident resulted in injuries to Bhanu Kumar and incited widespread fear in the neighborhood.

Non-bailable warrants were issued against Idrishi by the judiciary due to his attempts to evade capture while frequently altering his locations.

Acting on a tip-off, a unit from the Crime Branch’s WR-I executed a raid in the Chand Nagar vicinity of Tilak Nagar and successfully detained Idrishi on March 19.

This operation was spearheaded by Inspector Anil Malik, assisted by SI Anshu Kadiyan, W/ASI Narender Kaur, HC Sandeep Yadav, HC Parveen, HC Naveen, and Constable Krishan, all under the guidance of ACP Raj Kumar.

Authorities disclosed that the arrested individual has a history of criminal activity, having previously been linked to several cases within the city. In 2020, he faced arrest in a case registered at the Sagarpur Police Station under Sections 307, 506, 120B, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code along with various provisions of the Arms Act for purportedly opening fire on a complainant with two accomplices.

Additionally, he was apprehended in a snatching case recorded at the Punjabi Bagh Police Station in 2022.

Officials indicated that further inquiries into the matter are ongoing.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Crime Branch, Harsh Indora, emphasized that this operation showcases the Crime Branch's unwavering commitment to tracing down criminals and reinforcing law enforcement throughout the national capital.
