New Delhi, Aug 1 (NationPress) The Parliament's agenda for Friday features significant legislative proposals, including The Readjustment of Representation of Scheduled Tribes in Assembly Constituencies of the State of Goa Bill, 2024 and The Merchant Shipping Bill, 2024.
According to the Lok Sabha's business list, both bills are set to be presented for approval, alongside private members' initiatives.
Minister Prataprao Jadhav will provide insights into the progress of implementing recommendations from the 137th and 150th reports of the Standing Committee on Health and Family Welfare. These reports focus on vaccine development, distribution management, and pandemic mitigation related to Covid-19 within the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
The Lok Sabha will further consider The Readjustment of Representation of Scheduled Tribes in Assembly Constituencies of the State of Goa Bill, 2024, which was introduced by Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal on December 17, 2024.
This bill aims to facilitate the reservation of seats as per Article 332 of the Constitution, ensuring effective democratic participation from Scheduled Tribes members, while also providing for the readjustment of seats in Goa's Legislative Assembly necessitated by the inclusion of certain communities in the Scheduled Tribes list.
